With a variety of vegetables and different food selections, everyone in the family can find their choices. I am a vegan and especially expect the food to be fresh and timely, I can find different vegetables and a range of wholesome foods here. I like the black rice noodles. If you are on a special diet, you can choose not to have the soup base by asking the staff to boil the vegetables and meat for you. The tomato soup base is suitable for kids and light tastes. There are spicy soup bases suitable for those who fancy savory taste. Our whole family enjoys the Malatang here!

We saw Yangguofu Malatang on TikTok and thought we would come and try it for ourselves. On entry, our server was friendly and asked if we had dined here before. She showed us what we had to do - there are two fridges filled to the brim with amazing foods you can include in your bowl. It is priced by weight. It is 3.19 per 100g and is weighed at the till. You have the choice of 3 broths! We went for the beef bone broth - medium spiced. It was delicious! There’s also a section for dipping sauces - the peanut sauce is to die for! 5/5 - would definitely recommend to others!

Fantastic food, customisable to your own tastes and with fantastic service. The selection of ingredients is impressive and means there is something for everyone, although the price-by-weight model means that your meal can get expensive quickly if you don't think about what you're ordering. I've only tried the mild spicy bone broth base, although as a spice-lightweight I certainly wouldn't go any spicier than this! Gluten free and vegetarian ingredients are clearly labelled, and a solid drink selection.

Fresh ingredients, authentic soup flavour and the restaurant is modern and clean. I really wish they had sweetheart cabbage available. However, overall, I was super satisfied with the food and happy to see this brand finally in Newcastle. Best malatang in the North East, by far!

Went for lunch today, affordable price, friendly staff, and you can choose various meatballs, tofu and veggies in one bowl. The food I ordered is very delicious with the chef-special beef soup base. I’d say it’s a must-try cuisine for hotpot lovers!

The best Malatang in Newcastle! I love how clean and neat this place is! super tasty as well I think It’d be easier for those who haven’t try Chinese spice before as it’s not really strong flavour. Plus, unlimited rice
